New Nixu NameSurfer Suite 6.0.2: Introducing NSD Support

Three of the 13 root name servers and many Top Level Domains (TLDs) rely on Name Server Daemon (NSD) in their Domain Name System (DNS). Developed by NLnet Labs of the Netherlands, NSD has been designed to add variance to the DNS server installed base dominated by Berkeley Internet Name Daemon (BIND), thereby increasing the resiliency of high level DNS against software vulnerabilities.

Continuing Nixu Software's tradition of industry firsts, Nixu NameSurfer Suite 6.0.2 is the first commercial DNS and IP address management solution to support NSD-based authoritative name servers. By combining native support for DNSSEC and NSD secondaries, Nixu NameSurfer Suite is the only management solution in this market space to meet scalability, performance and technology requirements required at the root level.

The software appliance supports all the same x86 hardware platforms as Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4, and VMware® Virtual Infrastructure.
