Nixu Software Launches New Product and Website
Accommodating further development of its operations, Nixu Software has launched new website at
www.nixusoftware.com on September 26 2006. The new website introduces Nixu Secure Name Server
(SNS), the world's first DNS software appliance, along with Nixu Software's new visual identity.
Said Juha Holkkola, Managing Director of Nixu Software: "After kicking off our operations on April 1
(2006), we have made significant investments into developing exciting new products such as the
upcoming Nixu SNS. Our new website does a great job at communicating our exceptional value
propositions and putting them in real-life context."
Nixu Secure Name Server (SNS) is a new breed of DNS software appliances based on Nixu Software's
patent-pending method for securing DNS appliances. It is the first DNS server in the world to
incorporate Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) on hardened Linux O/S, protecting organizations
from common security threats such as Denial of Service attacks, port scans, and DNS cache
poisoning attempts. Being a software appliance, Nixu SNS will be sold as annual subscriptions - much
like commercial open source operating systems.
Nixu SNS will be publicly available at www.nixusoftware.com on October 16 2006 through the new
Software Delivery Portal in the Download & Buy section of Nixu Software's website. The price
of 12-month subscription will be set at USD 495/server including maintenance and support.
Said Juha Holkkola: "Nixu SNS is a bargain. At USD 495 per year, it has lower Total Cost of
Ownership (TCO) than traditional do-it-yourself DNS servers running open source software.
And yet it's significantly more secure than most other DNS products, both open source and commercial."
Nixu Software is a privately held affiliate of Nixu Group. Headquartered in Helsinki, Finland,
and with regional contact points in Americas and Asia Pacific, its mission is to offer the best
value for money within the DNS and IP addressing industry. Nixu Software's DNS products have an
installed base consisting of roughly 3.000 installations worldwide, many of them at reputed
blue-chips and service providers.
