Announcing Support for VMware® Virtualization Platforms

Nixu Software has joined VMware Technology Alliance Partner (TAP) Program in an effort to ensure that all Nixu Products can be implemented and run on various VMware® virtualization platforms. The partnering initiative was driven by rapidly increasing customer demand for software appliances resulting from virtualization projects initiated by organizations around the world.

Nixu Software specializes in DNS and IP address management software appliances distributed as ISO images that can be used to boot up new virtual machines. The ISO image auto-installs the entire software stack from a hardened operating system (CentOS) to the application layer in just 10 minutes, creating a secure and a reliable virtualized DNS server.

Support Statement

Nixu Software confirms that we will support customers running Nixu Secure Name Server (SNS) and Nixu NameSurfer Suite on supported Operating Systems in a VMware virtual machine environment.

Nixu Software will provide unqualified support for Nixu Secure Name Server (SNS) and Nixu NameSurfer Suite running in a VMware virtual environment in an identical manner as with Nixu Secure Name Server (SNS) and Nixu NameSurfer Suite running on any other major x86 based system without initially requiring reproduction of issues on native hardware. Should Nixu Software suspect that the virtualization layer is the root cause of an incident; the customer will be required to contact the appropriate VMware support provider to resolve the VMware issue.

While Nixu Software products are expected to function properly in a VMware virtual environment, there may be performance implications which can invalidate Nixu Software's typical sizing and recommendations.
