More DNS Security Features: The New Nixu SNS 1.6 Series Nixu Software has today made a public release of Nixu Secure Name Server (SNS) 1.6 series, the world's first virtualization-ready DNS software appliance. To address the DNS security challenges faced by network administrators all over the world, the new version of Nixu SNS introduces value-added features that simplify and speed up server patching processes. Version 1.6 also includes new features related to intrusion detection and prevention. "After Dan Kaminsky announced the vulnerability affecting recursive DNS servers on July 8, we have been busy helping network administrators and managers with DNS issues" tells Juha Holkkola, Managing Director of Nixu Software. "While automated software updates worked like a charm and Nixu SNS servers were patched up only hours after the incident was made public, we soon realized that being able to update Nixu Products quicker than competition was not enough. Patch management can be tricky especially in larger mission-critical networks, so we developed new features for the job that are now available in Nixu SNS 1.6."
