ICANN and gTLD Program

ICANN has announced a new gTLD program for organizations interested in reserving and operating new generic Top-Level Domains (gTLD). ICANN expects to start accepting applications for new gTLDs during 2010. During the application phase, all applicants are required to submit a detailed technical plan outlining their strategy for setting up Registry Solution and Domain Name System (DNS) infrastructure for the new gTLD.
