Business Case for 2nd Generation Registry Server
Top-Level Domains (TLDs) have traditionally relied on custom-built systems
in facilitating their domain reservation processes. This has translated into
expensive domain name registry systems that offer very little in terms of
workflow automation, typically involving a team of dedicated administrators
processing the related routines manually. And as with any home-grown or
custom-built system, further development of a traditional domain name
registry system can be cumbersome if not downright impossible.
At the same time, emerging network standards such as DNSSEC, IPv6 and EPP
are posing new challenges to organizations involved with facilitating domain
name reservations. To comply with the new technology requirements set out by
ICANN and local regulatory authorities, organizations running domain name
registry systems have to be prepared to address these emerging technologies
promptly and efficiently.
Nixu Registry Server: Productized Flexibility
Nixu Registry Server is a Domain Name Registry Solution (DNRS) run by a
number of ccTLDs around the world. Thanks to its modular solution
architecture, the deployment can be configured to align with the local
decrees and regulatory requirements. Equipped with numerous process
automations, web-based user interfaces (AJAX) and IDN support, Nixu Registry
Server can also be localized to reflect the identity of the registry and to
comply with the local language requirements, whatever they are.
Depending on the project scope, Nixu Registry Server can be delivered either
as a highly-available standalone domain name registry system integrated with
existing Domain Name System (DNS) platform, or as a part of a complete
end-to-end DNRS & DNS Infrastructure turnkey delivery. To address our
customers' business requirements, Nixu Registry Server supports various
accounting rules and can be integrated with virtually any billing system.
